Originally founded by Maikil Herndon in 2004 as a music label, One City Entertainment is a social proof platform that gives consumers the chance to discover music artists and other creators. We create online competitions and challenges designed to address relevant issues, in addition to keeping us all entertained. These competitions connect creatives, consumers and corporations through socially engaging narratives that help “Shape the Culture.” We are using our marketing and promotion experience from filming artists and entrepreneurs like Jay-Z, Ludacris, TI, Young Jeezy, and others, to bring exposure, fans and financial success to independent creators. Our goal is to discover new talent and trends while encouraging artists to be unique and genuine in their storytelling.

To make the most out of this platform, make sure to complete all fields available. First, add a profile pic, which will ensure that you are included in filtered search results. Then add your bio. Use this space to describe yourself and your music style or perspective. For assistance in creating your artist profile, reach out to us at services@onecityent.com.
Once you’ve set up your page, add links to all of your social media, merch, music, etc. These links will help your fans navigate to your other sites, share your content with their networks and add your songs to their own playlists. After that, you can add your YouTube content to your page. We recommend uploading videos, lyrics or some type of visual to help connect with and keep the fans’ attention. The most recent video uploaded will go to the Latest Videos section on One City Ent.’s HomePage. This is the place for you to shape the culture by voting in a variety of artistic competitions. Here you will discover the newest content and content creators from around the globe. We run competitions on topics including relationship music, movement music, motivational music, and more. Your vote not only rewards the competitors with money, recognition and other opportunities, but it also helps to shape the culture by dictating the newest trends.
We at One City Ent. are fans as well. We know what it’s like to have our inboxes flooded with videos and music to check out. We built this platform so that you can discover new independent artists and authentic sounds. While Facebook, Instagram and other social media are flooded with artists trying to get your attention, we make it easy to follow and support the artists that you discover in a space specifically designed and dedicated to that.
Anyone is free to browse the artists pages and video uploads. However, to make the most of this platform, create a profile so that you can follow your favorites and vote in competitions. All the latest content and featured videos are posted on the Home Page. Soon you will also be able to use the Discover tab in order to search for artists or content based on various criteria, including location. Be sure to save your favorite artists so that you can keep up with their appearances, concert dates, merchandise and ticket sales, etc.
We are also encouraging major recording artists to create their fan pages, and increasingly artists are signing up as we place them in head-to-head competitions.These challenges are designed to keep you engaged and give you an opportunity to determine who’s the GOAT. This is a fun way to remember popular songs and relive the era.

One City Ent. recognizes the impact the entertainment industry has on the culture, as we too have been shaped over the years by our own involvement in the industry. In order to shape the culture, we first must listen and define what culture means to us. Our competitions help steer the narrative towards different trends in style, slang and fashion. We also often run a showcase dedicated to important current events such as our Just Us 4 Us movement in response to the 2020 protests about police brutality, criminal justice reform, and other social injustices. Or the Sickest 2 Spit Stay-at-Home Freestyle Challenge designed to provide relief to artists losing money affected by the closures due to COVID-19.
